Marketing using Directories

A Business directory is a website or print media listing of information which lists all businesses within some category. Businesses can be categorized by business, location, activity, or size. Business may be compiled either manually or through automated online search software.

The details provided in a business directory will vary. They may include the business name, addresses, telephone numbers, location, type of service or products the business provides, number of employees, the service region and any professional associations. Some directories include a section for user reviews, comments, and feedback.

Many business directories offer complimentary listings in addition to the premium options. There are many business directories and some of these have moved over to the internet and away from printed format. Whilst not being search engines, business directories often have a search facility.

Online Business Directories can receive a bad press, and they vary in quality and content. There is a balance between professional advertising, value for money and quality of service. Business owners are looking for ROI, web traffic, exposure for their business, plus SEO benefits of backlinks.

There are multitudes of online directories, and plenty will also give free links. The major search engines such as Google and Yahoo add more value to one way links from human edited directories, as they are seen as trusted resources.

Free Classified ad placement

Classified advertising is usually text-only and can consist of as little as the type of item being sold and a telephone number to call for more information. It can also have much more detail, such as name to contact, address to contact or visit, a detailed description of the product or products (“pants and sweaters, size 10″ as opposed to “clothing”, “red 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix” as opposed to “automobile”). There are generally no pictures or other graphics within the advertisement, although sometimes a logo may be used.

Classified advertising is called such because it is generally grouped within the publication under headings classifying the product or service being offered (headings such as Accounting, Automobiles, Clothing, Farm Produce, For Sale, For Rent, etc.).

Like most forms of printed media, the classified ad has found its way to the Internet. Internet classified ads do not typically use per-line pricing models, so they tend to be longer. They are also more readily searchable unlike their offline brethren, tend to be local, and may foster a greater sense of urgency as a result of their daily structure and wider scope for audiences.

Because of their self-policing nature and low cost structures, some companies offer free classifieds such as Craigslist, Kijiji and Gumtree internationally. Other companies focus mainly on their local hometown region, while others blanket urban areas by using zip codes.

Craigslist.org was one of the first online classified sites, and has grown to become the largest classified source, bringing in over 14 million unique visitors a month according to comScore Media Metrix. A number of online services called aggregators such as Trovit and sumavisos.com crawl and aggregate classifieds from sources such as blogs and RSS feeds, as opposed to relying on manually submitted listings.

Additionally, other companies provide online advertising services and tools to assist members in designing online ads using professional ad templates and then automatically distributing the finished ads to the various online ad directories as part of their service. In this sense these companies act as both an application service provider and a content delivery platform.

As the online classified advertising sector develops, there is an increasing emphasis toward specialization. Vertical markets for classifieds are developing quickly along with the general marketplace for classifieds websites. Like search engines, classified websites are often vertical in nature with sites providing advertising platforms for niche markets of buyers of sellers

What’s better than free traffic? Free traffic that converts into sales! Free Classifieds are an excellent way to generate profits without spending a single dime. Your only investment is time and creativity.

There are thousands of free classified sites online. We’ll focus on a few high-traffic sites to get started but as you master this avenue continue to expand your advertising on the free sites.

It’s entirely possible you can begin generating leads within 24 hours just by placing a few simple ads immediately.

Basic action

1. Choose your site

Start with these high traffic sites

For a list of many more visit www.yahoo classified ad directory

2.Choose your city

Choose a city you’re familiar with that has a high volume of traffic. Later on you’ll want to test out different cities but in the beginning stick with high volume cities you know.

3.Choose the section

This will vary by site but using Craigslist as an example you should consider (1) Service Offered > Small Biz Ads, Financial, Real Estate or (2) Jobs Offered> Sales/Biz Development, Real Estate, Business Management.

4.Write your ad

While these sample ads are a good starting point for writing your own ad copy, this is really a chance to be creative and set yourself apart from the masses. Keep in mind the #1 objective with your ad copy is to generate curiosity so your reader is compelled to take the next step, be it clicking on a link or calling your telephone number. Don’t sell. Don’t explain. Generate curiosity.

5.Post your ad

6. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

Generating a substantial number of leads from free classifieds requires massive action, but the pay-off is worth it!

Basic tips & tricks

  • Free classifieds are a great testing ground to see if your ad copy is effective and pulling a response. Even as you expand your marketing campaigns in to more advanced avenues such as Google Adwords you should consider testing your ad copy in a free campaign first to see how it pulls.
  • While it’s a relatively simple process to post a single free classified ad, your goal should be to have a ton of these ads out there on a multitude of sites. As such, organizing your site information (logins, passwords, ad copy, renewal dates, etc.) will allow you to quickly and easily renew your ads rather than wasting time re-inventing the wheel every month. We suggest using an excel spreadsheet to keep track of your free classified database. Or use  roboform software to keep up with all your log in information

There are some tricks to posting on Craigslist when you are posting ads in multiple cities:

  1. Use a unique headline for each ad you post
  2. Use unique text in each ad you post
  3. Consider using image ads (a picture with verbiage rather than searchable text)
  4. Use one account for 5 to 10 cities. Create additional accounts as necessary. For additional free email accounts go towww.gmail.com.
  5. Only post 10 ads (or less) per day in the beginning. Going overboard too quickly on Craigslist before you learn the ropes will get your ads flagged and your accounts banned.

Now it’s important to understand that there are 2 kinds of Craigslist ads PAID ads. You can find the cities and fees herehttp://www.craigslist.org/about/help/posting_fees most of the cities cost $25 per ad and I would recommend starting at that level.

Paid ads are a little bit better ,for these reasons

  • Less competition means a higher response rate.
  • It’s simple and easy.
  • Instant gratification.

    Ezines Marketing Workshop

    Summary & Overview

An online magazine (i.e. “Ezine”) shares some features with a blog and also with online newspapers, but can usually be distinguished by its approach to editorial control. Magazines typically have editors or editorial boards who review submissions and perform a quality control function to ensure that all material meets the expectations of the publishers (those investing time or money in its production) and the readership.

Online magazines that are part of the World Wide Web, that is, all or part of a web site, are also called webzines. Ezine (also spelled e-zine and usually pronounced /izin/) is a more generic term commonly applied to small magazines and newsletters distributed by any electronic method, for example, by electronic mail (e-mail/email). Some social groups may use the terms cyberzine and hyperzine when referring to electronically distributed resources. Similarly, some online magazines may refer to themselves as “electronic magazines” to reflect their readership demographics, and more importantly to capture alternative terms and spellings in online searches.

Many large print-publishers now provide digital reproduction of their print magazine titles through various online services for a fee. These service providers also refer to their collections of these digital format products as online magazines, and sometimes as digital magazines.

Online magazines representing matters of interest to specialists in or societies for academic subjects, science, trade or industry are typically referred to as online journals.

Many general interest online magazines provide free access to all aspects of their online content although some publishers have opted to require a subscription fee to access premium online article and/or multi-media content. Online magazines generate revenue based on targeted search ads to web-site visitors, banner ads (online display advertising), affiliations to retail web sites, classified advertisements, product-purchase capabilities, advertiser directory links, or alternative informational/commercial purpose.

The original online magazines, ezines and disk magazines, due to their low cost and initial non-mainstream targets, may be seen as a disruptive technology to traditional publishing houses. The high cost of print publication and large web readership has encouraged these publishers to embrace the World Wide Web as a marketing and content delivery system and another medium for delivering their advertiser’s messages.

In the late 1990s ezine publishers began adapting to the interactive qualities of the Internet instead of duplicating magazines on the web. Publishers of traditional print titles and entrepreneurs with an eye to a potential readership in the millions started publishing online titles. Salon.com founded in July 1995 by David Talbot was launched with considerable media exposure and today reports 5.8 million monthly unique visitors.

In the 2000s, some webzines began appearing in a printed format to complement their online versions. These included Movie Insider, Slate, Synthesis and Lucire magazines.

    Basic Use

An Ezine is an online newsletter or magazine usually focused on a clearly defined topic ranging from gardening tools to online marketing. The Ezine is emailed to a list of subscribers who have requested more information from the author(s) on this topic.

The author/owner of an Ezine offers advertisers the opportunity to “rent” their subscriber list for a specific advertisement. Ezine Marketing is one of the favorite marketing strategies used by many top producers. Ezine Marketing allows you to “piggy back” off the credibility of the Ezine’s author/owner.

Ezine advertisements can be just as targeted as pay-per-click advertising, if not more. For example: the author/owner of a business opportunity Ezine could send an advertisement on your behalf to the Ezine’s opt-in email distribution list. Because that list of subscribers has already indicated they are interested in business opportunities you are assured your ad is being delivered to an audience who has expressed an interest in what you are selling.

    Basic action

    Ezine Marketing Study Guide

AUDIO Training: Ezine Training by the “Urban Cowgirl”, Cherie Yvette 2hrs 50min

    1.Research ezines
    Step one:

Google search for Ezines related to your industry of choice by searching for “(your industry)_ ezine”.

    • “internet marketing ezine”
    • “online marketing ezine”
    • “affiliate marketing ezine”
    • “home business ezine”
    • “networking marketing ezine”

    Step two:

    • “internet marketing newsletter”
    • “online marketing newsletter”
    • “affiliate marketing newsletter”
    • “home business newsletter”
    • “networking marketing newsletter”

    Step Three:

Google search for “Free Ezine Directories”. You may also want to consider a paid Ezine directory such as Charlie Page’s Directory of Ezines in order to expedite your search efforts.

    2.Review each ezines
    Step one:

More subscribers do not necessarily indicate a better quality Ezine. Often times it can actually mean the opposite. Be sure to verify the quality of an Ezine before placing an ad with them. Subscribe to the Ezine and see how many emails you get per week and consider, objectively, how valuable the content is that’s being distributed.

    Step two:

Verify with the author/owner how many times per week the Ezine list is emailed and ask them about their content to advertisement ratio. Some Ezine owners simply have Ezines to build an email distribution list in order to sell solo ads. This type of Ezine is generally ineffective because the readers are constantly bombarded by advertisements and offers. You want to advertise with an Ezine that delivers solid content more often than it advertises to its subscribers.

    Step three:

Ask the Ezine owner for references from other advertisers. If their Ezine has been effective for other advertisers they’ll usually be happy to give you some names to contact.

    3.Select your ad type

Ezines typically offer four types of advertisements: solo ads, sponsor ads, classified ads, and joint ventures. Taking in to account your marketing budget and the Ezine’s price structure you should always choose an ad type that will allow you to test first without spending your entire budget.

    1. Solo Ad: Normally a full page ad that tells your story, gives the reader valuable information, and provides a specific call to action.
    2. Sponsor Ad: Shorter, 1-2 paragraph, benefit-driven advertisement.
    3. Classified Ad: Traditional 3 line classified advertisement. Should be benefit driven.
    4. Joint Venture: Instead of paying for the ad, you split a percentage of the profits with the Ezine author/owner.

    D4.Create your ad

    Solo ad writing tips

    • Include Benefits, benefits, and more benefits
    • Use a strong, attention-grabbing headline
    • Sell the click, not the whole deal. Remember, your only goal is to get people to take the next action, which is to click on your ad. You don’t need to give them the whole story about your business, just sell the click.
    • Put yourself in the subscriber’s shoes. Empathize with them. Be their friend. Let them know you care. And if you don’t care … you’re in the wrong business.
    • Use personal stories. Remember “Facts Tell. Stories Sell!”
    • Don’t be too formal! Think about the subscriber as if you were sitting together in a coffee shop having a casual conversation. Write your ad as such with that same casual, conversational tone.
    • Use the core emotions of joy and pain. Avoiding pain is a VERY strong motivator for people.
    • Don’t appear perfect.perfect is boring!

    5.Place your ad
    Step One:
It’s best to negotiate directly with the Ezine author/owner in a telephone conversation if possible.

Step Two: Never spend your entire advertising budget on one single ad Test out some smaller ones first (10,000-20,000 subscribers) and then, once you have a feel for which Ezines and ads work for you secure a long-term placement with the Ezine owner.

Step Three: Confirm the placement of your ad and delivery date with the Ezine owner.

Step Four: Double (and triple) check your ad copy and tracking URL before submitting it to the Ezine.

Step Five: Analyze the effectiveness of the campaign by calculating your cost per lead.

Step Six:If the ad converts well consider negotiating a long-term placement with the Ezine owner. But remember; always test your ad before committing to a long-term contract.

    Basic Tips & Tricks

    • Once you find an Ezine that gives you great results you can schedule many solo ads ahead of time. It’s a great way to plan your advertising out 2 to 3 months at a time.
    • Set up a separate email account for list subscriptions.
    • Use a Google document or spreadsheet to keep track of your Ezine research and build a database you can refer to later

    SEO Domination Workshop

    Summary & Overview

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results as opposed to search engine marketing (SEM) which deals with paid inclusion. Typically, the earlier (or higher) a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

The acronym “SEO” can also refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms, keyword stuffing and article spinning that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.

    I Wanna Be Number 1

    Taking the Restricted View

No matter which search term I choose,my competitor is always number 1 and i’m not even on the first page.Howgoogle seo I Wanna Be Number 1 can I compete?
    The Smaller Picture

Whatever industry or service your Web site offers, it’s fair to say that you are part of a very busy marketplace. You’re not the first Web site, nor will you be the last. Understanding, and more important, accepting that you are not the only player is a major stepping stone to ensuring that you will be successful. No idea is original, and deciding to use the Web as your sales outlet is certainly not groundbreaking. Someone, somewhere has been doing it successfully or unsuccessfully far longer than you, and more will follow. But don’t let that put you off.

    Keyword Ego

There are top level keywords  in every industry. As an online toy seller, I was obsessed with the keyword “toys”but it quickly became apparent that I was up against Toys R Us; yet we were in a different market, and in terms of long term marketing spend we simply couldn’t compete. The click-throughs we got for paying for that keyword “toys” weren’t converting into sales. What was the matter? The answer was that we had a specialist offering: traditional style wooden toys, finger puppets, stroller toys, and off the wall clothing and footware. The simple fact is that people who typed in the word “toys” were looking for the latest craze, invariably made of plastic, which had enjoyed advertising on television. That wasn’t the sort of stuff we sold. Okay, we sold toys, but not the kind of toys these people were looking for.    The answer:  Go niche. Be specific. We optimized our site on the specific, not the generic, “wooden toys”, “push along toys” and the like and the results we were staggering. Suddenly we were enjoying more traffic and ,more important, a higher conversion rate. In other words we were attracting the right sort of customer who was interested in our offering, and more of those customers were more committing to purchase.

    Special and Unique

Your potential customers are both of these things: special in that they require extra attention and unique in that they really do think for themselves. We are all guilty of forcing Web users into a certain category, but the truth is, they’re as different and picky about there web decisions as they are about their everyday decisions. Treat them as individuals.

    Here’s an idea

In your opinion, what are the top three keywords that are important to your site. Alright, forget about them. They’re not important (for now). Now create a list of 10 keywords that are the next most important words in the list (as far as your concerned). These are niche words, the important words, these words will make you rich. Write down these words. We’ll use them and put these words into revenue; I promise! Follow up soon.

    What’s So Special About Google?

    Is it Really All That?

Google this and Google that! What about Yahoo,Bing,Ask & Altavista? Mom always said  ”Don’t put all your eggs into one basket.”eggs2 Whats So Special About Google?

    Say it with Numbers
When Internet users are unable or unwilling to to guess your URL (Uniform Resource Locator; read “Web site address”),
they will use a search engine to find you. Now, among all the website visits that are conducted in the United States that were immediately preceded by a search engine, Google is responsible for the majority. Google is by far the most widely used search engine and the biggest referrer of visitors in the United States (60% of all searches). Google like Kleenex, has achieved a dominance so great, in such a short period of time, that the company name often is used to mean Internet searching. Single execs, looking for companionship, “google” potential dates before committing to a meal. Parents google a school to decide whether it’s suitable for little Frankie’s education. Job applicants google the interview staff to learn any interesting snippets that they can bring up at an interview. Internet users use Google -a lot. Google certainly owns the internet at the moment, and if you want your business to thrive , you need to learn how to be #1 on Google.
    Just Flick The Switch?

As an e-business advisor and freelance e-consultant I meet with a lot of companies with websites. Primarily they all want the same thing, good exposer on Google. But there is no magic switch, there is no instant cure; becoming #1 on Google takes time. You want instant gratification and  Google’s more interested in pursuing a long term relationship withgoogle pagerank Whats So Special About Google? you. This may go against everything else we see, hear and feel about the Web (overnight success stories, sites plucked from obscurity, servers crashing due to the weight of so much traffic…), but that’s the deal. Commit seriously to Google and it will commit write back, and when that relationship is forged, it’s not just strong, it’s really strong.

    Sleeping With The Enemy

Unfortunately, Google doesn’t make it easy. You’d think the easiest thing in the world would be for Google to post a FAQ page or a checklist on a site that systematically explained to developers and business owners how to win it’s favor, but it won’t. Why? Well, basically Google is fed up with people abusing the system, and if there is no obvious system, that makes it that much harder. And it works. So is there an official Google endorsed guide to Google? No, Only unofficial guides!

    Here’s An Idea...

Lets see where you are write now. Type in your domain name on a Google search ( without the www and the .com) Are you on page 1, page 2, page 3 ? Now type in the name of your best selling product, service or industry. Are you on page 1, page 2, or page 3 ? Okay, There are plenty of ideas for you to improve that listing and get you not just to the top of the page for each of those searches, but filling page 1 completely, with separate links to areas of you site. Here is a small tip: never ever pay someone you are not familiar with to do SEO for you, chances are they can not get you ranked no more than yourself. These companies feed on newbies .

How To Market The Internet Using Video

    Overview & Summary

YouTube is a video sharing website on which users can upload and share videos. Three former PayPal employees2005 youtube3 How To Market The Internet Using Video created YouTube in February 2005. In November 2006, YouTube, LLC was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion, and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google. The company is based in San Bruno, California, and uses Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos. Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, although media corporations including CBS, the BBC, UMG and other organizations offer some of their material via the site, as part of the YouTube partnership program.

Unregistered users can watch the videos, while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos. Videos that are considered to contain potentially offensive content are available only to registered users over the age of 18. The uploading of videos containing defamation, pornography, copyright violations, and material encouraging criminal conduct is prohibited by YouTube’s terms of service. Accounts of registered users are called “channels”.

    Basic Use

Internet video is now the most sought after commodity on the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.). These search engines love video content and will generally push your posted videos up in the free search results (also known as the “organic” or “natural” search results).

30,000,000,000 web videos are watched every month in the United States. That’s right, THIRTY BILLION videos. In fact, videos now comprise 60% of all web traffic.

Not only is there tremendous video traffic on the internet, but surfers who are looking for videos are a highly desirable demographic. Take a look:

    • 71% are employed
    • 15% are students
    • Their Median Income is $75,000
    • Almost 50% are married
    • 70% are college educated

This is a GREAT demographic to target as you share your business!

You can easily generate unlimited FREE traffic to your website with a well thought out video marketing campaign.

Dominate the search engines with well targeted videos.

The best videos are about 2 1/2 minutes long and are designed to accomplish three things:

    1. To answer the viewer’s questions
    2. To educate the viewer
    3. To tell the viewer what to do next

    Basic Action Steps

    1. Equipment

Obviously you’re going to require some basic equipment in order to record videos. Many newer computers (especially Macs) have built in webcams but you may want to consider a small hand-held video camera to shoot videos away from your desk and your office.

We highly recommend “The Flip” camera. It’s small, inexpensive, captures great quality video and can be used as both a regular video camera as well as a webcam. It’s also very simple to use.

    • To do regular video camera-style movies,
    • If you would like to do web-cam style videos, be sure to also

*If you’re on a tight budget you can get a webcam that mounts onto computer at a local electronics store for approximately $35.

    2. Understand the principles of “Personal Branding”

    AUDIO Tutorial: Personal Branding 60min

AUDIO TUTORIAL: Establishing Yourself as an Expert 1hr 9min

    3. Keyword Targeting

Make a list of all the keywords you can think of that people might search for when looking for a home business. Make sure these are “long tailed keywords.” These are keywords that are very specific and usually have five words or more in them. The individual who types in a long-tailed keyword is generally much more serious about finding the answer to their question.

For example: a short keyword search would be: “network marketing”. A long-tailed keyword search would be: “network marketing coaches in Miami”. Here’s a hint, targeting cities is a great strategy as there is generally very little competition for the keywords, and that’s what you’re looking for: unique keyword strings with search results under 1,000,000. If you can hit on a long-tailed keyword with 300,000 or fewer search results this video marketing strategy can almost guarantee you will dominate all the top search spots.

Conduct your own searches on “make money online” and you will get a ton of keyword ideas.

Here’s a hint: consider the books and authors, movies, products, etc. your target demographic is purchasing and create long-tailed keywords around them such as:

    • Is “Company X” a scam?
    • Is “Company X” legitimate?
    • A review of “Company X”.
    • Is “Person X” a scam?
    • Is “Person X” legitimate?

You can then create a video review of that book, product, etc.

So, take some time to stop and really think through all the possible avenues a person interested in a home business might pursue when searching for some answers. Google’s Keyword Tool can assist you in generating more ideas.

    4. Shoot Your Video

Once you have your keyword list compiled it’s time to make your video. You have two options:

    1. Make a slide show video
    2. Make a video of yourself

Option One: Making a Slide Show Video

There are enormous benefits to making a slide show video. First, they are quick to make, you control the look and you personally don’t have to be on camera so your look, voice, etc. aren’t subject to the judgments of your viewers. You simply script something that directly relates to the keyword you are targeting.

For example: If you’re targeting the keyword phrase “network marketing coaches in Miami”, your slide show video could look like this:

Slide 1: Are you ready to make serious money in Network Marketing?
Slide 2: Are you living in Miami right now and looking for an experienced coach?
Slide 3: Would you like a simple, proven system to plug into?
Slide 4: Contact me directly at ### ### ### or go directly to my website at (insert your domain here) to get more information about me.

Or, if you’re targeting a keyword phrase “A Review of ‘X’ Company”, your slide show video could look like this:

Slide 1: Are you looking for a business and currently investigating ‘X’ Company?
Slide 2: I did some research, and here are the Pros and Cons of what I found.
    Slide 3: Pros: 1,2,3,4 and Cons: 1,2,3,4
Slide 4: When I looked at this opportunity I passed because I really wanted more of x and less of y.
Slide 5: To see the Company that fit my criteria go to (insert your domain here) for a FREE tour.

Be sure your review is honest, unbiased and includes both the Pros and the Cons or people will see right through it as nothing more than a sales pitch. Remember, your intention is to:

    1. To answer the viewer’s questions
    2. To educate the viewer
    3. To tell the viewer what to do next

Option Two: Making a Video of Yourself

Unlike in a slide show video, you will be the star of your own video but you will address the same basic information. Don’t focus too much on what you look like or sound like, just be yourself and let your personality sine through. Remember, the viewer is watching the video because they already believe you know something they do not. And they want that information.

A simple 2 ½ minute video could look like this:

Introduction: All black screen intro with text: “Welcome to (insert your domain here)”.

Body: Fade to you, sitting in a nice, quiet, well-lit area introducing yourself with text below your face: “John Doe, Online Marketing Authority”. Address the questions you’re targeting in your long-tailed keyword selection.

Conclusion: Conclude the video by saying “For more great information go to my website at (insert your domain here)” and also have the website text on your screen.

    5. Name Your Video

    6. Distribute Your Video

Step One: Sign Up For YouTube

Step Two: Upload Video to YouTube

    7. Promote Your Video

YouTube will already be going to work promoting your video for you based on the tags and description you gave your video when you uploaded it.

For example, when a prospect conducts a Google searching using a keyword that you tagged in your video, your YouTube video could show up in the search results.

There are many other ways to promote your video:

    • Add it to your website’s landing page or thank you page
    • Post it on your blog
    • Email a link to your list
    • Use an outsourcing software such as Traffic Geyser

Whilst the video is uploading to Traffic Geyser or Youtube write a description.  Always start with your url and make sure your keywords are in the title.  Use the keywords in the text too.  You can then add this as a blog post or use it as the basis for an article to post to article sites.

    Intermediate Strategies

    “The 10×10x4 Strategy”

The 10×10x4 is a great strategy for targeting a specific keyword or phrase that may have a little more competition. This strategy allows you to create trust with your customer before they buy from you which, in the long run, creates a smoother sales process.

While you can use a slide show video for the 10×10x4 Strategy, we believe videos featuring you actually work better.

AUDIO Tutorial: Leverage Your Knowledge: 10×10x4 1hr 10min

    1. Make 10 Videos Addressing the 10 Most Commonly Asked Questions

Make 10 videos addressing the 10 most commonly asked questions you get about the topic. Here you should really put yourself in the mind of the consumer.

For example, if you were targeting “home businesses for stay at home moms” the most commonly asked questions might be:

    1. How fast can this work?
    2. Is this legitimate?
    3. How much money can I make?
    4. Do I need special education?

Or, if you were selling fertilizer your questions would, obviously, be different. They might be:

    1. What is the fertilizer made of?
    2. How long will it take for my vegetables to grow?
    3. Is the fertilizer dangerous?
    4. Will there be chemicals in my food?
    5. Are there any side effects when eating?

Important Note: make sure you NEVER make promises or guarantees!

Place the following text at the bottom of every video: “For 20 more free videos go to www.yoursite.com/free”. You can also tell them this verbally at the end of your video and physically point down to where the text will be on the screen. Once you complete the 10×10x4 strategy you will have 20 videos on the topic and you are offering to give these away for FREE to your viewers. This establishes trust and credibility.

    2. Make 10 Videos Addressing the 10 Questions Nobody Thinks To Ask

Make 10 videos addressing 10 important questions that nobody thinks to ask. This is where you establish yourself as the authority. For example:

Some secrets about your topic that you know and they don’t. (Example did you know that 30,000,000 videos are watched every month in the USA and you can access these people with the push of one button?)

What differentiates you from everyone else. Maybe you are a baby boomer and thus have more life-experience. That would be the answer to “What makes working with me so special?”

You probably get asked the same ten questions all the time so this should be easy.

    Basic Use

Article Marketing is a simple, effective and low-cost way to bring very high quality visitors to your website. You can

dominate article marketing How To Market The Internet Using Articles establish yourself as an authority in the industry, and build trust with your audience through articles. You don’t have to be an expert writer to have an effective article campaign.

Once you write an article, there are many places to distribute your content online, so that you have the largest audience possible, reading your articles. You can optimize your articles for specific keywords so that they appear in the search engines results when prospects search for your keyword.

    Basic Action Steps

    1. Define Your Target Audience

Defining your target audience is the first step in writing effective articles. The more closely you can define your target market, the more this audience will relate and respond to, your articles. For example: “People who want to make money” is too broad of an audience and should be further refined in order to be effective as there are many different types of people looking to make money, all for different reasons.

There are a couple of ways to choose your target audience: (1) you can either choose to target people just like you, or (2) you may want to branch out and target a completely different audience.

Either way, use the following list of questions to assist in defining your audience:

    1. What do they do for a living?
    2. What struggles do they face?
    3. What is important to them?
    4. What are their values?
    5. What is their current income?
    6. What are their income goals?
    7. What types of activities do they enjoy?
    8. What is their definition of success?
    9. Do they use any industry specific “lingo” or terminology?

    2. Select Your Keyword

First, familiarize yourself with the basic concepts of Keyword Research:

    Wordtracker.com

Since your articles can show up in the search engines for specific keywords, you’ll want to “optimize” each article for a long-tailed keyword.

    Long-Tailed Keyword: Short-Tailed Keyword:
    Black 7 Series BMW BMW
Luxury 5 bedroom home in Aspen Colorado Luxury home
Best online home based business opportunity Online business

Choose one long-tailed keyword for your article.

    3. Select Your Topic

Step One: Once you have selected your long-tailed keyword, choose a topic specifically related to that keyword. For example, if your long-tailed keyword is “best online home based business opportunity” then your topic could be:

“How to Find the Best Online Home Based Business Opportunity” or“How to Know If You’re In The Best Online Home Based Business Opportunity.”

Here’s a quick and easy formula for coming up with article topics:

    1. Write down the top 5 concerns you have or had about starting a new business.

    2. Then, write out the solutions provided by your business or a business your interested in.

Keep in mind the people who are reading your articles probably have the exact same concerns that you did or do about joining a business. By addressing these concerns in your article, prospects will feel that your article was written just for them and they will feel drawn to you.

Whenever possible you want your article to have an emotional aspect to it as you want to trigger an emotional response from your readers. Think about the problems that your audience faces and what emotions are tied to those problems.

For example, frustration: “Are you frustrated with MLM’s that pay tiny commissions and take years to build?”

    4. Select Your Article’s Angle

Every article has its own unique angle. By simply changing your article’s angle you can construct five different articles based on your one keyword and topic.

    1. A how-to article
    2. A review article
    3. A problem, then solution article (define a problem, provide the solution)
    4. A personal experience article
    5. A comparison article (compare your former profession to your new venture)

    5. Write Your Article

Writing articles is easier than you think! Your goal is to complete this step in 20 minutes or less. Do not worry about making your article perfect. The most important thing you can do is just sit down and start writing.

Here’s a framework for how to do this quickly:

Step One: Make a list of 3 main points you want to get across in your article (one sentence each).

    1. Main Point #1:
    2. Main Point #2:
    3. Main Point #3

Your three main points will be the first sentence for your three paragraphs.

Step Two: Write down 3-5 sentences that back up and support each of your three main points.

    Main Point 1

    1. Backup Sentence 1:
    2. Backup Sentence 2:
    3. Backup Sentence 3:
    4. Backup Sentence 4:
    5. Backup Sentence 5:

    Main Point 2.

    1. Backup Sentence 1:
    2. Backup Sentence 2:
    3. Backup Sentence 3:
    4. Backup Sentence 4:
    5. Backup Sentence 5:

    Main Point 3.

    1. Backup Sentence 1:
    2. Backup Sentence 2:
    3. Backup Sentence 3:
    4. Backup Sentence 4:
    5. Backup Sentence 5:

The 3 to 5 backup and supporting sentences you wrote will make up the body of each paragraph.

Step Three: Write Your Introductory Paragraph

“Tell your audience what you’re about to tell them.”

Write 3 to 4 sentences that sum up your three main paragraphs.

Step Four: Write Your Closing Paragraph

“Tell your audience what you just told them.”

Write 3 to 4 sentences that sum up your three main paragraphs and then provide them with a solution.

    6. Write Your Article Title

Once your article is written, create a compelling title by following these key points:

    1. Include your entire keyword in the Title whenever possible.

    2. Move your keyword as close to the beginning of the Title as possible.

    3. Remember, questions make great article Titles as the human brain does not like it when a question goes unanswered. This phenomenon actually creates a chemical reaction in the brain. Your readers will be compelled to do what it takes to get that question answered, including reading what you have to say and clicking through to your website.

    7. Distribute Your Article

Distribute Your Article Manually To The Following Sites:

    1. www.EzineArticles.com
    2. www.Amazines.com
    3. www.GoArticles.com
    4. www.articlealley.com
    5. www.articlesbase.com
    6. www.evancarmichael.com

cost: $97 monthly subscription to Traffic Geyser. Have your article automatically distributed  to 35 different article sites. (recommended)

    Basic Tips & Tricks

    • Articles should be written from the perspective of assisting your reader, not as a cleverly disguised sales pitch. Sales pitches turn people off.
    • If you are writing a “how to” article never be afraid to give away your “best stuff”. If you give your reader great quality content for free they will be more inclined to listen to you and, ultimately, spend money with you.
    • If you are writing a “problem/solution” article you will want to clearly articulate and reiterate your audience’s problem. This strategy is effective because your audience will subconsciously decide that you, the author, “really knows what I’m thinking and what problems I have. I want to listen to what they have to say and take a look at the solution they are offering me!”
    • If you are writing a “review” or “comparison” article, don’t reveal “the end of the story” or your final opinion in the Title. People will be less inclined to click on your article and read the rest if they believe they already know how the story’s going to end.
    • If you have some keywords from pay per click that are converting well for you then use these as a basis for new articles – this is known data and if you are paying for the traffic with ppc you may as well take advantage of some free traffic.
    • When submitting your article to multiple sites, be sure to submit to EzineArticles.com first, since they seem to have the best duplicate content filter.  If you submit to other sites before EzineArticles, they will flag your article as duplicate content.
    • If you choose not to be a writer and are on a budget, you can pick a article to use from Reprint articles and use a article spinning service such as SEnuke . Senuke is a downloadable software that enables you to spin your already used article and make it unique again by changing around the wording with different word variables.
